Artech Wallcovering Installation owner, Phil Reinhard, has been awarded the prestigious, Sam Kovnat Award by the Wallcovering Installers Association (WIA). The award is presented to, “An individual who, over a number of years, has displayed outstanding commitment to the WIA, its code of ethics, and has set an example to which all paperhangers may aspire.”

The WIA, formerly the National Guild of Professional Paperhanging, is the only organization committed to the wallcovering installation business. Phil has been a member since 1998, and has served on numerous committees since joining, including chairing the Public Relations and Convention committees for multiple years.

He has also taught seminars and workshop sessions on many topics at events held by the WIA, always willing to share his experience. He, along with Cliff Hayes of Cliff Hayes Paperhanging of Pittsburgh, PA wrote the course material and presented the accreditation class on the installation of digitally printed wallcoverings for the WIA. Through teaching and listening to those in attendance at these sessions he always gains knowledge from the professionals in attendance.

“I am honored to be presented this award, and thrilled to have my dedication and commitment to the Wallcovering Installers Association recognized,” said Reinhard. “The WIA has been the main source for my continuing effort to improve my own skills, and I enjoy sharing my experience with other members.”

The award was presented at the WIA National Convention on September 12 in New Orleans.

About the WIA
WIA wallpaper hangers and vinyl contractors maintain high standards in the hanging of historic wallpapers, scenic murals, silk papers, bamboo, grasscloth and English pulp papers in addition to traditional fabric-backed and paper-backed vinyl materials. Paperhangers not only turn the plans of artists and designers into beautiful covered walls, but they perform a creative function and supply quality installation services.

As a professional wallcovering installer you provide home and commercial building owners with a high level of creative ability and craftsmanship. Quality installation is essential for building owners, who want projects completed on time, on budget, and with the least amount of disruption.

WIA provides great opportunities for qualified, experienced paperhangers, but many wallcovering installers miss out because they operate in isolation. WIA bridges that gap and brings together the best in the wallcovering installation craft. Association members, Installer and Associate alike, “hang with the best.”
